Pike Event, November 10, 2024

Maldon Angling Society believes in actively supporting development of angling skills and fish care.  We often work with the Angling Coaching Initiative to teach youngsters and adults who need experienced guidance,  On November 10 we teamed up with the Pike Angling Club to host a teach-in at Totham pit. Richard Turner, our Junior Events Co-ordinator, organised the event (he’s the one in the gallery with the fake fish).  This was an open event and saw over 60 people attend, including 25 Juniors.

  • PAC experts demonstrated how to unhook a Pike correctly using a dummy Pik and everyone practiced their skills!
  • Talks on methods for fishing for Pike and how to tie traces also took place
  • Goodie bags were given out to the Juniors with a raffle ticket
  • A separate raffle also took place for the adults. 6 lucky winners shared prizes that included a Lure rod and reel combo, Lure rods and Lure bundles
  • 6 pike were caught

A massive thanks to all who helped and to all the people that came and a special thanks to Trevor Peddle and the PAC boys who gave up their Sunday.  Roll on next years event.
