DESCRIPTION
A mature 70+ year old gravel pit of 8+ acres with heavily wooded banks and 40+ swims. There is an interesting combination of shallows, bays and deeper water.
Most of the fish grow large here, with Tench to 8lb+, Bream to 10lb+ and Carp to over 30lb. Other species include Roach to around 2lb, Rudd over 1lb, Perch, Pike to 16lb+, Eels to 7lb, and Chub to 1lb 8oz. There has been a history of Large Pike to over 20lb, Perch to 3lb+, Tench to nearly 10lb and larger Rudd, but these haven’t been seen in these sizes in recent years. It also had some large Crucian Carp years ago but they seem to have vanished nowadays. We hope to be proven wrong…
Totham Pit doesn’t give up any of its species easily. It’s a water that takes some learning and watercraft to find the fish and their haunts and routes. Having said that, some bumper bags and specimen sized fish lay in wait for those wishing to put the time and effort in.
Recent stockings include
23x C3 Mirror Carp to nearly 12lb (February 2021)
360x Chub to 1lb 8oz (January 2022)
14x C6/C7 Carp. 8 Commons, 6 Mirrors from 21lb to 26lb 8oz (December 2022)
