Slough House Farm

Brief description of fishery:

An attractive lake of around 5 acres with extensive marginal reed beds and has an island towards one end. This lake is surrounded by a small menagerie on most banks, its livestock is known to keep the anglers entertained on occasions.

The water contains Carp from all sizes to upper twenties along with good sized Roach, Perch and Rudd to occupy float and feeder anglers. There are also a Tench to 6lb+ and Skimmers up to the occasional big Bream to over 8lb along with some Eels to around 4lb. You may even be lucky enough to bump into some exceptionally large Ide. The last few remaining remnants of a stocking in the early 2010’s, but they come out to over 4lb!  There’s also the odd “Crucian” type fish to around 3lb. These are not genuine Crucian Carp.  Recent nettings have revealed a small stock of Pike to which the club had no knowledge of!

The water is a firm favourite amongst all types of angler, as it has good sized Carp,  regularly produces good match weights (mainly of silvers) and pleasure bags of all species can regularly top 50lb+  It is also a water where the Carp anglers can tend to expect a few runs in a session.

Slough House can get very windy as it is fairly open and surrounded by flat land. The fish often follow the wind.
Defined by the club as a mixed fishery because of its popularity with all parties, although it does tend to have a bias towards Carp anglers.

Minimum line strength of 15lb when fishing for Pike.
